At just 21 years old, Josh is already a force to be reckoned with in the world of business and personal development. Once a troubled teenager caught up in the wrong crowd, he is now a multi-award-winning speaker and coach, inspiring thousands with his powerful story of transformation. But his journey was far from easy.
Born to Beverley and David Shatliff, Josh grew up in a loving, supportive family alongside his older sister, Samantha. As the adored grandson of Susan and Robert, he spent much of his childhood helping at charity events, clearing tables, selling raffle tickets, and engaging with people. Even from a young age, he had a natural ability to connect with others, and he thrived in the sense of purpose and community his grandparents instilled in him.
Josh’s early years were filled with promise. He excelled in primary school, always taking the lead and earning the admiration of his peers. He was a role model, someone younger children looked up to. Alongside his natural leadership, he also had a passion for sports, particularly ice hockey. He played for Manchester Storm’s Under-18s team, channeling his energy into the game and developing the discipline and teamwork that would later serve him in unexpected ways.
But everything changed when he entered secondary school. The rigid system, built on discipline rather than encouragement, stifled his natural energy and ambition. Detentions became the school’s way of controlling him, but instead of helping, it pushed him further away.
By the time he was in his third year of secondary school, things had spiraled out of control. Josh was excluded and sent to a pupil referral unit, a place many never escape from. But he refused to let that define him. He later attended a new mainstream school, but before he could find his footing, COVID-19 struck, leaving him to graduate with predicted grades rather than real exams. Feeling lost, he drifted into the wrong crowd, and the future that once seemed so bright began slipping away.
But then came the turning point—his mother, Beverley, made a bold decision that would change both of their lives forever. Refusing to let her son be another statistic, she invested thousands into a high-level mentorship program for them both. Over the next two and a half years, Josh immersed himself in a world of coaching, learning from top mentors, attending life-changing events, and rebuilding himself from the inside out. It was not an overnight success story—it was a battle. But Josh fought, and he won.
Today, that same young man who once stood on the edge of failure is now a rising star in the business world. From working as a laborer on a building site and a trainee tiler with his brother-in-law Luke to coaching high-level entrepreneurs and sharing stages with industry leaders, his transformation is nothing short of remarkable.
But perhaps what’s most inspiring is that Joshs entrepreneurial spirit has been there all along. At just six years old, he was selling stones to his neighbors. By 12, he had his own car washing business. And now? He is a Success Coach at Big Business Events, mentoring others on how to unlock their potential and create lives beyond their wildest dreams.
His story is far from over. This is just the beginning.
Stay tuned—because Joshua Shatliff is just getting started.
