EA Sports FC 27 Soundtrack Lands On Spotify

Electronic Arts has released the official soundtrack for its upcoming football simulation EA Sports FC 27, making 120 tracks from artists representing 36 nations available on Spotify starting this week. The release arrives ahead of early game access on September 18 and the title’s full global launch on September 25.

The soundtrack mixes established acts with newer names in an effort to reflect the global reach of both the sport and the game franchise. Confirmed artists include Interpol, The Strokes, Barry Can’t Swim, Sayf, and Rose Gray, alongside new music contributed specifically for the release by Cage The Elephant and Mura Masa. Electronic Arts said the lineup was assembled to capture a wide range of genres and regions, continuing a tradition the football franchise has built over more than two decades of pairing gameplay with curated music.

Among the newer contributors is Kyan, whose track “Garage,” made with collaborators Enzo from the Block and Mu540, appears on the FC 27 list. Kyan described growing up playing EA Sports football titles and said he once dreamed of hearing his own music featured in the game. He also noted that his friendship with his co-writers began through playing the game together despite language differences, a detail Electronic Arts highlighted as an example of how the franchise has connected players and now musicians across borders.

Music is also being woven more directly into the gameplay experience this year. FC 27 introduces The Grounds, a new social hub built around three districts inspired by English, French, and Argentinian football culture, each with its own distinct soundtrack. Separately, EA’s mobile title FC Mobile is marking its third anniversary by inviting players to vote for a favorite track from the franchise’s soundtrack history to be added to the mobile game, followed by a second vote allowing fans to select a standout song from the new FC 27 collection for inclusion as well.

The pairing of major sports titles with curated music playlists has become a standard marketing tool across the gaming industry, particularly for franchises with global, multigenerational audiences. Soundtracks tied to sports games often serve a dual purpose: they help publishers court younger listeners who discover new artists through gameplay, while also giving musicians exposure to an audience that spans dozens of countries and platforms. Spotify, which has partnered with Electronic Arts on previous football soundtrack releases, has increasingly positioned itself as a hub for such gaming-adjacent content, publishing dedicated playlists and promotional pages timed to major releases.

The football video game market itself remains highly competitive and lucrative, with EA’s FC series — the successor to the long-running FIFA franchise — continuing to draw large annual audiences following the split between EA and football’s global governing body in 2023. Music licensing has long been viewed by publishers as a low-cost way to build cultural relevance and social media buzz ahead of a launch, particularly when tied to real-world sporting calendars such as the conclusion of a major international tournament, as referenced in EA’s announcement this week.

Electronic Arts said fans can stream the full EA Sports FC 27 soundtrack now on Spotify, alongside an “Ultimate Mix” playlist compiling past favorites from the franchise’s history, as the countdown continues toward the game’s September 25 worldwide release.
